KPV 10 mg vial: mixing and syringe units
A 10 mg vial of KPV mixed with 3 mL of bacteriostatic water is 3.3333 mg/mL. At that strength 200 mcg is 6 units on a U-100 syringe and 500 mcg is 15 units. The doses on this page are a reported range, not a label dose.

Each row is one dose, the volume to draw and where that sits on a U-100 insulin syringe. The last three columns show which syringe sizes can hold it in one draw.
| Dose | Volume | Syringe units | 0.3 mL syringe | 0.5 mL syringe | 1 mL syringe |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 200 mcg | 0.06 mL | 6 units | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 500 mcg | 0.15 mL | 15 units | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Source Reported range, not a label dose. Some reports go up to 1,000 mcg a day. No human studies have been published. Vial math is arithmetic.
How to mix a 10 mg KPV vial
- Wash your hands. Wipe the stopper of the KPV vial and the water vial with an alcohol swab.
- Draw 3 mL of bacteriostatic water into a syringe.
- Push the needle through the stopper of the peptide vial and let the water run slowly down the glass, not straight onto the powder.
- Swirl the vial gently until the powder is gone. Do not shake it.
- Write the date and 3.3333 mg/mL on the vial, then put it in the fridge.
If you add a different amount of water
More water makes each dose a bigger, easier draw. Less water makes it smaller. The milligrams in the vial do not change.
| Water added | Concentration | 200 mcg | 500 mcg |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 mL | 10 mg/mL | 2 units | 5 units |
| 2 mL | 5 mg/mL | 4 units | 10 units |
| 3 mL | 3.3333 mg/mL | 6 units | 15 units |
The marked row is the amount used in the chart above. Red cells are draws under 5 units, which are hard to read, or over 100 units, which one 1 mL syringe cannot hold.
How many doses are in the vial
| Dose | Whole doses in a 10 mg vial | At once daily |
|---|---|---|
| 200 mcg | 50 doses | 50 days |
| 500 mcg | 20 doses | 20 days |
KPV 10 mg vial questions
How many units is 200 mcg of KPV from a 10 mg vial?
With 3 mL of bacteriostatic water the vial is 3.3333 mg/mL. 200 mcg is 0.06 mL, which is 6 units on a U-100 syringe.
How many units is 500 mcg of KPV from a 10 mg vial?
With 3 mL of bacteriostatic water the vial is 3.3333 mg/mL. 500 mcg is 0.15 mL, which is 15 units on a U-100 syringe.
How much bacteriostatic water goes in a 10 mg KPV vial?
3 mL is the amount used on this page. It gives 3.3333 mg/mL and puts the doses at 6, 15 units. Any amount works as long as the math is redone for it.
What if I added 1 mL instead of 3 mL?
The vial would be 10 mg/mL instead of 3.3333 mg/mL, so 200 mcg would be 2 units instead of 6. The dose in the syringe is the same; only the volume changes.
How many doses are in a 10 mg KPV vial?
Whole doses in one vial: 50 at 200 mcg, 20 at 500 mcg.
