Pinealon dosage: chart, reported range and vial math

There is no established dose of Pinealon. The one published human dose is 100 mcg by mouth twice a day for two weeks, from a small Russian study. No published study injected it in people; reports of 100 to 300 mcg a day for 5 to 10 days are not a label dose. It is not approved in the US or Canada.

How to mix a Pinealon vial

These steps are for the 20 mg vial picked in the chart. Change the size there and the amounts here change with it.

  1. Wash your hands. Wipe the stopper of the peptide vial and the water vial with an alcohol swab.
  2. Draw 2 mL of bacteriostatic water into a syringe.
  3. Push the needle through the stopper of the peptide vial and let the water run slowly down the glass, not straight onto the powder.
  4. Swirl the vial gently until the powder is gone. Do not shake it.
  5. Write the date and 10 mg/mL on the vial, then put it in the fridge.

What Pinealon is

Pinealon is a synthetic tripeptide, Glu-Asp-Arg (EDR), from the Khavinson group of short peptide bioregulators. It is studied for effects on nerve cells. [5]

Other names: EDR, EDR peptide, Glu-Asp-Arg, glutamyl-asparagin-arginine.

How it has been given to people: by mouth as capsules in the one human study with a stated dose; no human study of injection with a stated dose was found.

What to know before reading a dose

  • Human data are thin: four small Russian studies, none described as placebo-controlled, published in one journal. Three of them tested Pinealon alongside a second peptide, Vesugen.
  • The one human dose on record was taken by mouth, 100 mcg twice a day. No published study injected Pinealon in people, so injected doses in circulation have no trial behind them.
  • The reported injected range is 5 to 25 times the daily amount used in that study, and by a different route.
  • One human study found signs of reduced blood cell formation and pro-oxidant activity [2]. Its authors still recommended the peptide.
  • The nerve cell and memory findings are from cell culture, rats and mice, and come mostly from the group that developed the peptide [5], [6], [7], [8].
  • Not an approved medicine in the US or Canada as of the check date. Health Canada lists Pinealon among unauthorized injectable peptide drugs seized from an online seller [13].

Doses on record for Pinealon

Every dose below was given in a human study or printed on an approved label, and each links to its source. Doses set by body weight are left that way.

What the evidence shows

Each finding is tagged by the kind of study it comes from. Human trials are listed first.

Small human study

In railway locomotive crews, two weeks of capsules was reported to improve biological age measures. The abstract gives no numbers, no group sizes and no placebo group. [1]

Small human study

In 32 people aged 41 to 83 with several chronic illnesses, Pinealon and a second peptide, Vesugen, were reported to slow aging measures; Vesugen did better. The abstract gives no dose. [2]

Small human study

In a comparison of anti-aging methods in 110 people, the largest change in biological age measures came when Pinealon and Vesugen were used together, so the result cannot be credited to Pinealon alone. [3]

Small human study

In a study of long-distance truck drivers, peptide use was reported to improve measures of mental strain, with the best result again from Pinealon combined with Vesugen. [4]

Animal study

Given to pregnant rats with raised homocysteine, it improved learning and spatial orientation in their offspring. [6]

Animal study

In a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease, the EDR peptide prevented loss of dendritic spines. [8]

Lab study

In cultured cells under oxidative stress, Pinealon limited the build-up of reactive oxygen species. [5]

Lab study

In neurons made in the lab from skin cells of elderly donors, the EDR peptide reduced oxidative DNA damage. [9]

Side effects and warnings

Reported in human studies or on a label:

  • The study in 32 people found a fall in a blood stem cell marker, which the authors read as inhibition of blood cell formation. [2]
  • The same study found pro-oxidant activity, the opposite of the antioxidant effect seen in cell culture. [2]
  • The comparison in 110 people rated the peptide preparations and massage as the safest of the methods tested, judged by blood tests and clinical condition. No independent human safety study was found. [3]

Pinealon has no approved label in the US or Canada for this use, so there is no official list of who should not use it, no interaction list and no missed-dose rule.

Storage

Keep an unmixed vial the way its label says. Once it is mixed, keep it in the fridge, do not freeze it, and write the mixing date on the vial.

Pinealon dosage questions

How many units is 100 mcg of Pinealon from a 20 mg vial?

Mixed with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, a 20 mg vial is 10 mg/mL. 100 mcg is 0.01 mL, which is 1 units on a U-100 syringe.

How much water goes in a 20 mg Pinealon vial?

2 mL gives 10 mg/mL. At that strength the doses in the chart sit at 1, 2, 3 units on a U-100 syringe.

How many doses are in a 20 mg vial?

Whole doses in one vial: 200 at 100 mcg, 100 at 200 mcg, 66 at 300 mcg.

Is Pinealon approved in the US?

Not FDA approved. No Pinealon product or label was found in Drugs@FDA.

Is Pinealon authorized in Canada?

No Pinealon product is in Health Canada's Drug Product Database, and Health Canada lists Pinealon among unauthorized injectable peptide drugs seized from an online seller.

What human dosing data is there for Pinealon?

Human data are thin: four small Russian studies, none described as placebo-controlled, published in one journal. Three of them tested Pinealon alongside a second peptide, Vesugen.

Looked for and not found

  • No human study of Pinealon given by injection with a stated dose. The only human dose found is 100 mcg by mouth twice a day for two weeks [1].
  • The other three human papers [2], [3], [4] give no dose in their abstracts. All four are in Russian and only their English abstracts were read.
  • No randomized, placebo-controlled trial. None of the human abstracts describes a placebo group or blinding.
  • The study behind the line that the peptide improves memory in elderly patients, which appears in a 2020 review by its originators [7].
  • No human half-life or other pharmacokinetic figure.
  • No trial registered on ClinicalTrials.gov: a search for pinealon as the intervention returned no studies.
  • No approved label in the US or Canadian sources searched, so no official dose, contraindications or storage instructions.
  • Not named on the WADA Prohibited List (page checked 2026-10-11, [14]). The list has an open class, S0, for substances with no current approval by any governmental health authority; whether it applies to this compound was not determined here.
