How to read a peptide dosage chart

Four checks, in order, before you draw anything up.

  1. 01

Match the peptide and the vial size

Start with the exact peptide and the strength printed on your vial. A 5 mg vial and a 10 mg vial give different draws from the same amount of water.

  2. 02

    Check the mix

The milligrams in the vial divided by the millilitres of water gives the concentration. Everything else is worked out from that.

  3. 03

Read dose, mL and units on one row

Milligrams and micrograms measure the peptide. Millilitres and units measure the liquid. On a U-100 syringe, 10 units is 0.10 mL.

  4. 04

Check where the number comes from

Each chart says if a schedule comes from a drug label, a published trial or common use, and how often it is taken.

How the numbers are worked out

Three sums sit behind every row. This example is a 10 mg vial, 2 mL of water and a 250 mcg dose.

Concentration

Milligrams in the vial divided by millilitres of water.

10 mg / 2 mL = 5 mg/mL

Volume to draw

The dose divided by the concentration. 250 mcg is 0.25 mg.

0.25 mg / 5 mg/mL = 0.05 mL

Syringe units

Millilitres times 100 on a U-100 syringe, where 1 unit is 0.01 mL.

0.05 mL x 100 = 5 units
