How to mix a CJC-1295 with DAC vial
These steps are for the 2 mg vial picked in the chart. Change the size there and the amounts here change with it.
- Wash your hands. Wipe the stopper of the peptide vial and the water vial with an alcohol swab.
- Draw 1 mL of bacteriostatic water into a syringe.
- Push the needle through the stopper of the peptide vial and let the water run slowly down the glass, not straight onto the powder.
- Swirl the vial gently until the powder is gone. Do not shake it.
- Write the date and 2 mg/mL on the vial, then put it in the fridge.

What CJC-1295 with DAC is
CJC-1295 is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone: human GRF(1-29) with four substitutions plus a lysine-maleimide group at the C terminus (the drug affinity complex, DAC) that bonds to albumin in the blood, so one injection keeps acting for days. [1]

What to know before reading a dose
- Not an approved medicine in the US or Canada as of the check date. Every dose on record is a trial dose in healthy adults, set per kilogram of body weight.
- The published human studies measured growth hormone and IGF-I only. No published trial shows an effect on body composition or any clinical outcome.
- The one registered patient trial (Phase 2, HIV-associated visceral obesity, 120 planned, 12 weeks of treatment) is listed as terminated, with no results posted [6].
- FDA reports serious adverse events with CJC-1295, including increased heart rate and a systemic vasodilatory reaction [8].
- Half-life is about 6 to 8 days and IGF-I stayed raised for up to 28 days after repeated doses [2], so a dose keeps acting long after it is given.
- Name confusion: 'CJC-1295' is used both for this albumin-binding form and for the shorter peptide without the DAC group. A 2021 anti-doping paper lists 'CJC-1295' and 'CJC-1295 with drug affinity complex' as separate compounds [7], and Health Canada has seized vials labelled each way [11]. The human trial data here apply to the albumin-binding form only.
- Compounding status is often quoted out of date: FDA's page dated 04/22/2026 lists CJC-1295 under substances nominated but withdrawn, and the category list dated May 14, 2026 no longer shows it in category 2 [8], [9]. That does not make it approved or permitted.

Side effects and warnings
Reported in human studies or on a label:

- The adverse events seen at the higher doses in [2]: not in the abstract.
- Why the Phase 2 trial in HIV-associated visceral obesity (NCT00267527, [6]) was terminated: the registry record gives no reason, names the arms only as low dose and high dose, and has no results.
- Any published human trial measuring body composition, fat, muscle, sleep, recovery or any other clinical outcome. PubMed lists two clinical trial publications for CJC-1295 [2], [3]; both measured hormone levels in healthy adults.
