CJC-1295 without DAC dosage: chart, reported range and vial math

The range reported for CJC-1295 without DAC is 100 to 300 mcg per injection, one to three times a day. No human study of this form was found, so it has no tested dose, half-life or safety data. It is a different molecule from CJC-1295 with DAC and from sermorelin.

How to mix a CJC-1295 without DAC vial

These steps are for the 2 mg vial picked in the chart. Change the size there and the amounts here change with it.

  1. Wash your hands. Wipe the stopper of the peptide vial and the water vial with an alcohol swab.
  2. Draw 2 mL of bacteriostatic water into a syringe.
  3. Push the needle through the stopper of the peptide vial and let the water run slowly down the glass, not straight onto the powder.
  4. Swirl the vial gently until the powder is gone. Do not shake it.
  5. Write the date and 1 mg/mL on the vial, then put it in the fridge.

What CJC-1295 without DAC is

CJC-1295 without DAC (also sold as Mod GRF 1-29) is the name used for the 29 amino acid GHRH analog (D-Ala2, Gln8, Ala15, Leu27)-GRF(1-29) amide: the four-substitution peptide that CJC-1295 is built on, without the added lysine-maleimide group (the drug affinity complex, DAC) that bonds to albumin. It is not the compound tested in the published human trials, and it is not sermorelin, which is unmodified GHRH(1-29). [2]

Other names: Mod GRF 1-29, Mod GHRH 1-29, CJC-1295 no DAC, (D-Ala2, Gln8, Ala15, Leu27)-GRF amide, tetrasubstituted hGRF(1-29).

How it has been given to people: no human use on record.

What to know before reading a dose

  • No human study of this peptide was found: no human dose, half-life or safety data exist for it. Any dose quoted for it comes from somewhere other than a human trial.
  • It is a different molecule from CJC-1295 with DAC. The published human trials used the albumin-binding form [7], [8]; their per-kilogram doses and multi-day half-life must not be carried over.
  • It is also not sermorelin. Sermorelin is unmodified GHRH(1-29); this peptide carries four substitutions [1], [2]. Sermorelin trial doses must not be carried over either.
  • The nearest human measurement found is for a third, different peptide: GHRH(1-29) with only the D-Ala2 change had a disappearance half-time of 6.7 minutes in 10 men, against 4.3 minutes for unmodified GHRH(1-29) [6]. No such figure exists for the four-substitution peptide.
  • Name confusion: scientific papers, a preparation analysed for Norwegian authorities and vials seized in Canada all use 'CJC-1295' for this peptide as well as for the DAC form [2], [3], [4], [11], so a label that says only 'CJC-1295' does not tell you which one is in the vial.
  • Not an approved medicine in the US or Canada as of the check date.
  • FDA reports serious adverse events associated with CJC-1295, including increased heart rate and a systemic vasodilatory reaction, without saying which form [9].

What the evidence shows

Each finding is tagged by the kind of study it comes from. Human trials are listed first.

Animal study

Given intravenously to three rats (0.1 mg each), this peptide was still found in plasma at 4 and 8 hours, the last sample taken; sermorelin was found at 2 hours only. The authors reported detection only and made no pharmacokinetic calculation. [2]

Lab study

A doping-control laboratory paper gives the structure of the peptide it calls CJC-1295 as (D-Ala2, Gln8, Ala15, Leu27)-GRF amide, that is, the four-substitution peptide with no albumin-binding group. [2]

Lab study

A preparation sent for analysis in Norway in 2009, at the request of police and customs, contained a 29 amino acid peptide with a C-terminal amide; its sequence was consistent with a peptide then marketed as CJC-1295. [3]

Lab study

A 2021 anti-doping method paper treats CJC-1295 and CJC-1295 with drug affinity complex as two different analogs. [4]

Side effects and warnings

No side effect data from human studies was found for CJC-1295 without DAC. That is a gap in the research, not a sign that it is safe.

CJC-1295 without DAC has no approved label in the US or Canada for this use, so there is no official list of who should not use it, no interaction list and no missed-dose rule.

Storage

Keep an unmixed vial the way its label says. Once it is mixed, keep it in the fridge, do not freeze it, and write the mixing date on the vial.

CJC-1295 without DAC dosage questions

How many units is 200 mcg of CJC-1295 without DAC from a 2 mg vial?

Mixed with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, a 2 mg vial is 1 mg/mL. 200 mcg is 0.20 mL, which is 20 units on a U-100 syringe.

How much water goes in a 2 mg CJC-1295 without DAC vial?

2 mL gives 1 mg/mL. At that strength the doses in the chart sit at 10, 20, 30 units on a U-100 syringe.

How many doses are in a 2 mg vial?

Whole doses in one vial: 20 at 100 mcg, 10 at 200 mcg, 6 at 300 mcg.

Is CJC-1295 without DAC approved in the US?

Not FDA approved; FDA lists CJC-1295 among compounding bulk substances that were placed in category 2 (significant safety risks) and whose nominations were then withdrawn, without separating the no-DAC form.

Is CJC-1295 without DAC authorized in Canada?

No product under CJC-1295 or Mod GRF is in Health Canada's Drug Product Database, and Health Canada has listed a seized vial labelled CJC-1295 separately from one labelled CJC-1295 DAC among unauthorized products.

What human dosing data is there for CJC-1295 without DAC?

No human study of this peptide was found: no human dose, half-life or safety data exist for it. Any dose quoted for it comes from somewhere other than a human trial.

Looked for and not found

  • Any human study of this peptide. PubMed searches for Mod GRF, modified GRF, tetrasubstituted GRF and CJC-1295 without DAC found none, and ClinicalTrials.gov has no study under those names [12].
  • A 2026 peer-reviewed review ([5], full text) reaches the same result: 'To date, no controlled clinical studies have directly evaluated this compound in humans', and it places the compound among those 'for which no peer-reviewed human studies exist at all'.
  • Human dose, human half-life, human side effects: none on record.
  • A half-life figure in any species: the rat study [2] reported detection times only and states that 'no pharmacokinetic interpretation was conducted'.
  • The two published human CJC-1295 trials [7], [8] used the long-acting form: [8] describes its compound as one 'that binds permanently to endogenous albumin after injection'. Their doses and results do not transfer to this peptide.
  • Which form FDA's CJC-1295 entry refers to [9]: the page does not say.
  • No approved label anywhere, so no official contraindications, interaction list, missed-dose rule or storage instructions.
