Thymosin Alpha-1 10 mg vial: mixing and syringe units

A 10 mg vial of Thymosin Alpha-1 mixed with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water is 5 mg/mL. At that strength 1.5 mg is 30 units on a U-100 syringe and 1.6 mg is 32 units. The doses on this page are a reported range, not a label dose.

Thymosin Alpha-1 10 mg draw chart

Each row is one dose, the volume to draw and where that sits on a U-100 insulin syringe. The last three columns show which syringe sizes can hold it in one draw.

How to mix a 10 mg Thymosin Alpha-1 vial

  1. Wash your hands. Wipe the stopper of the Thymosin Alpha-1 vial and the water vial with an alcohol swab.
  2. Draw 2 mL of bacteriostatic water into a syringe.
  3. Push the needle through the stopper of the peptide vial and let the water run slowly down the glass, not straight onto the powder.
  4. Swirl the vial gently until the powder is gone. Do not shake it.
  5. Write the date and 5 mg/mL on the vial, then put it in the fridge.

If you add a different amount of water

More water makes each dose a bigger, easier draw. Less water makes it smaller. The milligrams in the vial do not change.

The marked row is the amount used in the chart above. Red cells are draws under 5 units, which are hard to read, or over 100 units, which one 1 mL syringe cannot hold.

Thymosin Alpha-1 10 mg vial questions

How many units is 1.5 mg of Thymosin Alpha-1 from a 10 mg vial?

With 2 mL of bacteriostatic water the vial is 5 mg/mL. 1.5 mg is 0.30 mL, which is 30 units on a U-100 syringe.

How many units is 1.6 mg of Thymosin Alpha-1 from a 10 mg vial?

With 2 mL of bacteriostatic water the vial is 5 mg/mL. 1.6 mg is 0.32 mL, which is 32 units on a U-100 syringe.

How much bacteriostatic water goes in a 10 mg Thymosin Alpha-1 vial?

2 mL is the amount used on this page. It gives 5 mg/mL and puts the doses at 30, 32 units. Any amount works as long as the math is redone for it.

What if I added 1 mL instead of 2 mL?

The vial would be 10 mg/mL instead of 5 mg/mL, so 1.5 mg would be 15 units instead of 30. The dose in the syringe is the same; only the volume changes.

How many doses are in a 10 mg Thymosin Alpha-1 vial?

Whole doses in one vial: 6 at 1.5 mg, 6 at 1.6 mg.
