MOTS-c 10 mg vial: mixing and syringe units
A 10 mg vial of MOTS-c mixed with 1 mL of bacteriostatic water is 10 mg/mL. At that strength 5 mg is 50 units on a U-100 syringe and 10 mg is 100 units. The doses on this page are a reported range, not a label dose.

Each row is one dose, the volume to draw and where that sits on a U-100 insulin syringe. The last three columns show which syringe sizes can hold it in one draw.
| Dose | Volume | Syringe units | 0.3 mL syringe | 0.5 mL syringe | 1 mL syringe |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 mg | 0.50 mL | 50 units | No | Yes | Yes |
| 10 mg | 1.00 mL | 100 units | No | No | Yes |
Source Reported as 5 to 10 mg a week, as one 10 mg injection or two of 5 mg. Not a label dose. No published human study has dosed MOTS-c. Vial math is arithmetic.
How to mix a 10 mg MOTS-c vial
- Wash your hands. Wipe the stopper of the MOTS-c vial and the water vial with an alcohol swab.
- Draw 1 mL of bacteriostatic water into a syringe.
- Push the needle through the stopper of the peptide vial and let the water run slowly down the glass, not straight onto the powder.
- Swirl the vial gently until the powder is gone. Do not shake it.
- Write the date and 10 mg/mL on the vial, then put it in the fridge.
If you add a different amount of water
More water makes each dose a bigger, easier draw. Less water makes it smaller. The milligrams in the vial do not change.
| Water added | Concentration | 5 mg | 10 mg |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 mL | 10 mg/mL | 50 units | 100 units |
| 2 mL | 5 mg/mL | 100 units | 200 units |
| 3 mL | 3.3333 mg/mL | 150 units | 300 units |
The marked row is the amount used in the chart above. Red cells are draws under 5 units, which are hard to read, or over 100 units, which one 1 mL syringe cannot hold.
How many doses are in the vial
| Dose | Whole doses in a 10 mg vial |
|---|---|
| 5 mg | 2 doses |
| 10 mg | 1 dose |
How long the vial lasts depends on how often it is used. The reported frequency for MOTS-c is: once or twice weekly.
MOTS-c 10 mg vial questions
How many units is 5 mg of MOTS-c from a 10 mg vial?
With 1 mL of bacteriostatic water the vial is 10 mg/mL. 5 mg is 0.50 mL, which is 50 units on a U-100 syringe.
How many units is 10 mg of MOTS-c from a 10 mg vial?
With 1 mL of bacteriostatic water the vial is 10 mg/mL. 10 mg is 1.00 mL, which is 100 units on a U-100 syringe.
How much bacteriostatic water goes in a 10 mg MOTS-c vial?
1 mL is the amount used on this page. It gives 10 mg/mL and puts the doses at 50, 100 units. Any amount works as long as the math is redone for it.
What if I added 2 mL instead of 1 mL?
The vial would be 5 mg/mL instead of 10 mg/mL, so 5 mg would be 100 units instead of 50. The dose in the syringe is the same; only the volume changes.
How many doses are in a 10 mg MOTS-c vial?
Whole doses in one vial: 2 at 5 mg, 1 at 10 mg.
