Tirzepatide 30 mg vial: mixing and syringe units
A 30 mg vial of Tirzepatide mixed with 3 mL of bacteriostatic water is 10 mg/mL. At that strength 2.5 mg is 25 units on a U-100 syringe and 10 mg is 100 units. The doses on this page are the schedule printed on the approved label.

Each row is one dose, the volume to draw and where that sits on a U-100 insulin syringe. The last three columns show which syringe sizes can hold it in one draw.
| Dose | Volume | Syringe units | 0.3 mL syringe | 0.5 mL syringe | 1 mL syringe |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2.5 mg Weeks 1 to 4 | 0.25 mL | 25 units | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 5 mg Weeks 5 to 8 | 0.50 mL | 50 units | No | Yes | Yes |
| 7.5 mg Weeks 9 to 12 | 0.75 mL | 75 units | No | No | Yes |
| 10 mg Weeks 13 to 16 | 1.00 mL | 100 units | No | No | Yes |
Source Schedule from the FDA label (earliest step-up allowed). The label goes on to 12.5 mg and 15 mg. Vial math is arithmetic.
How to mix a 30 mg Tirzepatide vial
- Wash your hands. Wipe the stopper of the Tirzepatide vial and the water vial with an alcohol swab.
- Draw 3 mL of bacteriostatic water into a syringe.
- Push the needle through the stopper of the peptide vial and let the water run slowly down the glass, not straight onto the powder.
- Swirl the vial gently until the powder is gone. Do not shake it.
- Write the date and 10 mg/mL on the vial, then put it in the fridge.
If you add a different amount of water
More water makes each dose a bigger, easier draw. Less water makes it smaller. The milligrams in the vial do not change.
| Water added | Concentration | 2.5 mg | 5 mg | 7.5 mg | 10 mg |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 mL | 30 mg/mL | 8.3 units | 16.7 units | 25 units | 33.3 units |
| 2 mL | 15 mg/mL | 16.7 units | 33.3 units | 50 units | 66.7 units |
| 3 mL | 10 mg/mL | 25 units | 50 units | 75 units | 100 units |
The marked row is the amount used in the chart above. Red cells are draws under 5 units, which are hard to read, or over 100 units, which one 1 mL syringe cannot hold.

Tirzepatide 30 mg vial questions
How many units is 2.5 mg of Tirzepatide from a 30 mg vial?
With 3 mL of bacteriostatic water the vial is 10 mg/mL. 2.5 mg is 0.25 mL, which is 25 units on a U-100 syringe.
How many units is 5 mg of Tirzepatide from a 30 mg vial?
With 3 mL of bacteriostatic water the vial is 10 mg/mL. 5 mg is 0.50 mL, which is 50 units on a U-100 syringe.
How many units is 7.5 mg of Tirzepatide from a 30 mg vial?
With 3 mL of bacteriostatic water the vial is 10 mg/mL. 7.5 mg is 0.75 mL, which is 75 units on a U-100 syringe.
How much bacteriostatic water goes in a 30 mg Tirzepatide vial?
3 mL is the amount used on this page. It gives 10 mg/mL and puts the doses at 25, 50, 75, 100 units. Any amount works as long as the math is redone for it.
What if I added 1 mL instead of 3 mL?
The vial would be 30 mg/mL instead of 10 mg/mL, so 2.5 mg would be 8.3 units instead of 25. The dose in the syringe is the same; only the volume changes.
How many doses are in a 30 mg Tirzepatide vial?
Whole doses in one vial: 12 at 2.5 mg, 6 at 5 mg, 4 at 7.5 mg, 3 at 10 mg.
