Vilon 20 mg vial: mixing and syringe units
A 20 mg vial of Vilon mixed with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water is 10 mg/mL. At that strength 500 mcg is 5 units on a U-100 syringe and 2 mg is 20 units. The doses on this page are a reported range, not a label dose.

Each row is one dose, the volume to draw and where that sits on a U-100 insulin syringe. The last three columns show which syringe sizes can hold it in one draw.
| Dose | Volume | Syringe units | 0.3 mL syringe | 0.5 mL syringe | 1 mL syringe |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100 mcg | 0.01 mL | 1 units Too small to read well | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 500 mcg | 0.05 mL | 5 units | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 2 mg | 0.20 mL | 20 units | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Source Reported range, not a label dose. Reports run from 100 to 500 mcg a day up to 2 mg a day for 10 days. A few small Russian patient studies exist, but their published abstracts state no dose. Vial math is arithmetic.
How to mix a 20 mg Vilon vial
- Wash your hands. Wipe the stopper of the Vilon vial and the water vial with an alcohol swab.
- Draw 2 mL of bacteriostatic water into a syringe.
- Push the needle through the stopper of the peptide vial and let the water run slowly down the glass, not straight onto the powder.
- Swirl the vial gently until the powder is gone. Do not shake it.
- Write the date and 10 mg/mL on the vial, then put it in the fridge.
If you add a different amount of water
More water makes each dose a bigger, easier draw. Less water makes it smaller. The milligrams in the vial do not change.
| Water added | Concentration | 100 mcg | 500 mcg | 2 mg |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 mL | 20 mg/mL | 0.5 units | 2.5 units | 10 units |
| 2 mL | 10 mg/mL | 1 units | 5 units | 20 units |
| 3 mL | 6.6667 mg/mL | 1.5 units | 7.5 units | 30 units |
The marked row is the amount used in the chart above. Red cells are draws under 5 units, which are hard to read, or over 100 units, which one 1 mL syringe cannot hold.
How many doses are in the vial
| Dose | Whole doses in a 20 mg vial | At once daily |

| 500 mcg | 40 doses | 40 days |
| 2 mg | 10 doses | 10 days |
Vilon 20 mg vial questions
How many units is 500 mcg of Vilon from a 20 mg vial?
With 2 mL of bacteriostatic water the vial is 10 mg/mL. 500 mcg is 0.05 mL, which is 5 units on a U-100 syringe.
How many units is 2 mg of Vilon from a 20 mg vial?
With 2 mL of bacteriostatic water the vial is 10 mg/mL. 2 mg is 0.20 mL, which is 20 units on a U-100 syringe.
How much bacteriostatic water goes in a 20 mg Vilon vial?
2 mL is the amount used on this page. It gives 10 mg/mL and puts the doses at 1, 5, 20 units. Any amount works as long as the math is redone for it.
What if I added 1 mL instead of 2 mL?
The vial would be 20 mg/mL instead of 10 mg/mL, so 500 mcg would be 2.5 units instead of 5. The dose in the syringe is the same; only the volume changes.
How many doses are in a 20 mg Vilon vial?
Whole doses in one vial: 200 at 100 mcg, 40 at 500 mcg, 10 at 2 mg.
